Step into a realm of architectural renovations, where old-world charm meets contemporary sophistication. A modest 60s bungalow is transformed into a breathtaking modern villa, equipped with all the luxurious and comfort a present-day home would offer. The redesign takes all the positive elements of the original building and extends them to the present time. Large minimal glass façades, previously impossible, are added to enhance the connection with nature. The horizontality of the building is expressed more fully by layering the existing roof – creating two rooflines – which together form a playful, dynamic composition. All functions are integrated with this play of lines, such as the carport and outside terrace.
Floating glass extensions
Transparency is not just a feature; it’s a philosophy that courses through every element, blending the boundaries between indoors and outdoors. In the living room, nature takes center stage, dancing harmoniously with the structure, and bringing the outside in. The floating, extended floor creates a serene connection with the forest. A brief and humble visit in nature’s home.
Used materials

The exterior walls are finished in high-quality stucco, artfully textured reminiscent of concrete. It gives the building a raw and strong character, modernising the outdated yellow bricks. The stucco is continued inside, blending in- and outdoors. Sleek black aluminium accents, gracing window frames and movable shutters, infuse sophistication and creates a dynamic aesthetic. Embracing every architectural angle, LED lines illuminate important architectural lines, accentuating their horizontality and celebrating the fusion of materials in a dazzling display. The materialisation finishes the design and coats it in luxury and sophistication.
Layered roof
The two-layered roof creates a sense of depth and contemporary value. A minimalistic play of lines is formed by splitting the old-fashioned 60s roof in two. Bold lines harmoniously come together, grounding the design with a strong visual presence. As you venture closer, the interplay of light and shadows captivates, highlighting the solid craftsmanship. This design exemplifies a perfect balance of innovation and practicality, inviting you to experience modern living at its finest.
''The L-shape floorplan and the surrounding forest were the strong points of the existing design. In the redesign we complemented these points by extending the L-shape and making the façade more transparent. Blurring the line between outside and inside.''
